Local Streaming Music: Utah Musicians Radio
In a nod to the state's abundant musical talent, Utah radio stations have widened their playlists in recent years to include more homegrown musicians. However, more can be done to give aspiring Utah musicians a leg up in the industry. John Farmer, Utah native and musician, is aiming to fill that gap with Utah Musicians Radio - an online station he founded that plays independent and original Utah music all day everyday.
April Featured Artist - Brogan Kelby
Farmington native and edgy-pop musician Brogan Kelby has an impressive musical resume. He's opened for OK Go and 30 Seconds to Mars, sang with Switchfoot, filled in for Panic! At the Disco's frontman Brendon Urie, performed many shows in the Salt Lake area, released two albums, and solely produced his sophomore album "Mirrors & Masks" from start to finish. Not too shabby for a man who is just 19 and penny change.
Featured Artist: The Used
One of Utah's favorite musical exports to the world, The Used made a stop on home turf during their Take Action Tour. UMA's Justine had a pre-show chat with frontman Bert McCracken about his personal connection to the tour's anti-bullying cause, their January release of "Vulnerable II," the band's evolution with the music industry, and their philosophy on music and fame.
